Rick Van Dalen is a retired publishing executive and accounting and financial system designer.
Civic accomplishments- Rick has lived in the Hills since 1999. He has served on the Country Club Board of Governors first as the events chair and then in 2018 as Chairman of the BOG. Rick was instrumental, along with others, in getting the club to reduce social member fees for people over 75. Rick was elected to the POA in 2019 and has been the treasurer for the past three years. Rick has also been treasurer for two charities handling veteran’s affairs and is currently a member of the finance committee at the Lakeway Church.
Experience- Rick held several positions during his publishing career including Group controller at McGraw-Hill in NYC, VP-Operations for Hayden Publishing and VP-Finance and Operations for Holt, Rinehart and Winston in Austin TX. Rick bought the Chilton Company from the Disney Corporation in late 1999 and transitioned that company into an online data library of automotive repair procedures. He then sold that company in 2002 and retired.
Activities-Rick and his wife, Maria, have lived in the Hills since 1999 and have enjoyed in the community. Rick served in the USAF from 1965-1969. He is a graduate of Rider and then Rutgers University. He continues to donate time to chartable organizations and SCORE. He is also a golfer and avid reader.
