Hilda was first elected to the City Council in May of 2010. She served as Councilmember/Secretary from 2012 to 2019 when she became Mayor Pro Tem. She has also served on the POA Landscape Committee since 2009. She has been a property owner since 1992 and a resident since 1995.
Hilda has served in many capacities for The Hills since she became a resident, beginning with the Chairman of the Tennis Advisory Board, WTA Board representative, tennis representative to The Hills Advisory Board (Cobblestone era) from 1995-1999; in 2000 she was elected to the first Hills Country Club Board of Governors (ClubCorp era) where she served as Vice Chairman and Executive Committee Chairman 2000-2006. During this time she was also Chairman of the Membership Committee for the Club.
From 2004-2006, she was a member of the POA Architectural Committee, serving as Committee Chairman during her last year of service. She also served as Chairman for the Player Hospitality Committee for the Champions Tour Tournament for 6 years.
Activities & Experience
Hilda received a B.S. in All Level Art Education from the University of Houston and has taught school in Galena Park, Beaumont and Houston, Texas. She received her Travis County Master Gardner certification in 2000.
Hilda and her husband, Bill, have been married for 58 years. They have two daughters who live in the area with their families.
