Effective March 19, Mayor George Spencer issued a local disaster declaration for The Hills, Texas, due to the public health emergency related to COVID-19.  This is a preparatory declaration for the purpose of being able to recover reimbursement funds for unforeseen additional operating expenses that may result from a prolonged response to this event.  The declaration emphasizes the fundamental precautions issued by the CDC, as well as Governor Abbott’s Executive Order and proclamation that COVID-19 poses an imminent threat of disaster in the state and declaring a state of disaster for all counties in Texas.

Continue to follow reliable information sources, such as the CDC or Texas Department of State Health Services, for additional guidance. New information will also be posted on the Village of The Hills Facebook page and at www.VillageofTheHills.org.  Community safety remains the highest priority as we continue to monitor this evolving situation.
