[ARCHIVED] Message from the Mayor Regarding COVID-19 Preventive Measures

Dear Residents,

The health and safety of our residents is of the utmost importance.  Last week we canceled Village-sponsored events for April, including the festival scheduled for April 25, to do our part to slow the spread of COVID-19. We encourage everyone to protect each other by following the recommended CDC guidelines of diligent handwashing and social distancing.

Our City Manager will work remotely beginning at noon Monday, March 16.  While the office will be closed to visitors, municipal operations will continue. The Deputy Constable will be on regular duty, the parks and trails remain open for individual exercise, and phone calls/emails will be returned.

We continue monitoring the situation, along with our regional public health and emergency management partners.  Please tune in to reliable information sources, such as the CDC or Texas Department of State Health Services.  Local information will be published on the Village of The Hills Facebook page and/or by email.

I have already observed neighbors offering to help neighbors and for that I am proud and grateful to be part of this city. Thank you for all that you do and are willing to do in assisting and supporting each other during this time.

George Spencer

Mayor,  Village of The Hills
