[ARCHIVED] Bin, Bag Bundle!

Service enhancements are as follows:

  • Extra Bags in Addition to Bins - Waste Connections will provide weekly solid waste collection service for the contents of the provided carts and up to four (4) extra bags, boxes, or bundles. Such extra items may not weigh more than forty (40) pounds individually, may not exceed four (4) feet in length, must be contained to prevent spillage, and must be placed not further than five (5) feet from the curb. Branches, sticks, twigs and similar yard waste must be bundled with string, rope or wire.
  • Quarterly Curbside Bulky Waste Collection - Waste Connections will provide, once per calendar quarter (four times per year), a curbside collection service for up to four (4) cubic yards of solid waste, per residence. Waste items may not weigh more than 100 pounds individually. Appliances that contained coolant must be tagged as being free of any type of coolant by a licensed technician. Items cannot contain gasoline, oil, or other liquids. The bulky waste collection shall not include tires, liquids, hazardous materials, or construction or demolition debris. Boards not exceeding four (4) feet in length with no protruding nails will be collected in the bulky waste collection events. Scheduled dates are attached. 
  • Special Collection of Bulky Waste Items - Special collection service for bulky items at times other than the quarterly Bulky Waste Collection Events will be provided. Residents will contact Waste Connections and arrange for the collection of the Bulky Waste Items and pre-pay Waste Connections directly for the service to be rendered. For a Bulky Waste Item Rate Schedule please contact our office at 512-261-6281.
  • Christmas Tree Collection -Waste Connections will, during the four (4) weeks following Christmas, provide curbside collection of Christmas Trees on the normal solid waste collection days (which may be delayed one day due to Holidays) free of charge; providing the trees are absent of lights, decorations or ornaments and are not longer than six (6) feet in length.  The City is working with Waste Connections to make mulch available from recycled trees.

 Complaint Resolutions with Waste Connections, Penalties, and Other Remedies  The contract includes timelines for Waste Connections to perform their responsibilities and provides for penalties if elements of the agreement are not met.  Excellent service is the priority
